Beginners Level 1
This class is designed as a true beginning approach to the practice of Iyengar influenced yoga. Here you will begin with ujjayi breathing used to encourage focus. The breath is the link to the body and mind. Each posture is achieved with gentle guidance and support. The focus is on achieving a conscious breath and conscious movement. This is a small class, in which props are used and which can easily be adapted for any fitness level. We feel confident that this class provides a great introduction to the powerful and effective practice of Iyengar influenced yoga. |
Iyengar Inspired/Anusara Flow 1-2
Those of us who take up yoga as an antidote to a busy, stressful life find this class refreshing. It is effective at releasing tension, building confidence, strength, and promoting balance. This lively class is guided by Tricia, who believes yoga to be a learnable practice that helps us to slow down and free us of all the self-defeating tendencies that keep us stuck. "As we achieve balance inside, we come to treasure balance outside ourselves, we learn the Native American wisdom... to walk on the earth with balance and strength." Mary White Feather |
Iyengar Influenced Yoga 1-3
This system of yoga focuses on performing postures with proper spinal alignment and on increasing overall body awareness. Iyengar yoga is structural and precise. With the aim of meeting each individual’s needs and maximum benefit, instructors will use various props to assist with supporting and deepening the postures. Although these classes may include more challenging postures, the instructors’ skill and knowledge allow beginners to feel safe and comfortable. |
Iyengar Influenced Flow 1-3
This class incorporates the grace, breath awareness, and movement of sun salutations with the precision and emphasis on accessibility of Iyengar influenced yoga. Classes typically include yoga philosophy, pranayama (breath work), flowing sun salutations, and static postures. This combination provides an opportunity to find focus and ease in times of movement and times of stillness. |
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Cultivating body, mind and breath, Vinyasa Flow yoga links the breath within and between postures developing strength, flexibility and presence of mind. Yoga to challenge and awaken the entire body, balanced with deeply calming and integrating postures. Level 1-2 classes are perfect for students newer to yoga or those looking for a gentler flow class. Level 2-3 classes move at a steadier pace with more complex sequencing of asanas and deeper explorations of inversions, arm balances and back bending. All levels always welcome to any class. |
